"WAVEFRONT: Accentuating Potentials, Activating Technological Advancements"







                   

                   This year's Science Month Celebration focuses on the theme "WAVEFRONT: Accentuating Potentials, Activating Technological Advancements."  The meaning of the theme “Wavefront: Accentuating Potentials, Activating Technological Advancements is, The National Science Club  is aiming to focus on giving importance to Michael Faraday’s discovery of electricity and magnetism as part of the same phenomenon (electromagnetism), which is now the cornerstone of human technological advancements that brought significant changes in the world until today, and even upcoming changes in the future. The theme also focuses on assigning to the youth and science clubbers the responsibility of accentuating potentials and activating technological advancements.
                  
                    We can't deny that technology has been an important part of society, it is no longer a simple asset but a need for everyone. Although despite it being a large part of society, some or possibly most have little idea how it operates or what principles it runs on. For that, we have Michael Faraday to thank for his discovery and large contribution on electromagnetism and electrochemistry and his study on electromagnetic induction that is a cornerstone of technology. Technology can keep on advancing, but it is up to the youth of today if they implement their potentials to the fullest in contributing to these advancements.

                    Although the advancement of technology is important, we should never forget where it all started and to pay respects to the great scientists of the past for their discoveries and perseverance on proving their studies. Many people take technology for granted these days, but technology isn't as simple as inserting a plug into a socket and then a fan turns its blades. All these technology we use run on very complex principles that was given explanations and better implementations by the great minds of the past, and it is our duty as the youth to continue in advancing their studies.

Why we celebrate Independence Day

                                 Independence day, more commonly known as the day of freedom in the Philippines. As the name suggests, we celebrate it, for the sole reason of claiming freedom after a long period of time, but is that really the case?                  Independence day may be the day we celebrate freedom, but more importantly , we celebrate all the National Heroes who "fought" for this freedom. All their efforts, pain and their bravery, though this single day we remember their heroic deeds and offer our utmost respect for them. President Duterte: S.O.N.A. 2018

                        On July 23, 2018, President Duterte made his third SONA, which was his shortest SONA with a span of 48 minutes which was beyond his promise 35 minutes due to a couple of remarks he did during his speech. Compared to his previous SONA where he  went off-script with a long-winded tirade against critics in a speech that lasted two hours, Duterte in 2018 stuck mostly to his prepared speech without the usual expletives.               He talked about the main topics he'd prepared for his speech, he mainly talked about the unrelenting drug war, stating that it was far from over.  Duterte rants against illegal drugs and how it ruins lives but does not cite specific numbers on how his administration's anti-drug war addressed this problem. He had promised to end this problem within 6 months.
